26th Annual PROUTY Century Bike Ride & Challenge Walk

26th Annual PROUTY Century Bike Ride & Challenge Walk

real estate The origin of the Prouty began in 1982, when four nurses rode 100 miles through the White Mountains of New Hampshire to honor the courage and strength of their patient, Audrey Prouty, in her fight against cancer. This year, more than 3,000 people are expected to take part in the 26th Annual Prouty Century Bike Ride & Challenge Walk to celebrate and support the courage of cancer patients and survivors everywhere and to raise money for crucial cancer research at Norris Cotton Cancer Center. In the last 25 years, this event, has raised over $4.5 million dollars. This money funds world- class research, state-of-the-art equipment, critical education programs and innovative clinical trials that help save the lives of cancer patients all over the world.

Bikers can choose from a 100, 50, or 25 mile bike route along the scenic Connecticut River. Bikers will pass by farms, enjoy mountain views and can stop at plenty of SAG's (stop an go support areas) along the way. Prouty volunteers will provide 9 SAG's for bikers to take a break, grab some snacks and drinks. Snacks include watermelon, bananas, granola bars, energy bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chocolate bars, water, and gatorade--most which are generously donated by local vendors!

Walkers will travel through beautiful Hanover, New Hampshire. For the second time a wooded walk is being offered. This walk route travels through the woods along the Oak Hill Trails that adjoin Storr's Pond. Walkers can choose from 10k and 5k residential or wooded walks, or they can put together the routes to create a more challenging 15k or 20k route. There are SAG's and water stops on the walk routes too, for walkers to take a break.
